The „Green economy – the heating market changes – Act Now!“ conference was conducted as an online event on 19th & 20th November 2020. Originally it had been planned as a live event in Bremerhaven (Germany), but the Covid-19 pandemic changed these plans.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Act Now! will finalise the project within 3 additional months. Many meetings, wokshops and further planned activities had to be adapted to a new global situation of a pandemic.
Act Now! took part in this year’s “100% Climate Neutrality” conference in Sonderborg (Denmark) from September, 30th to October, 2nd. Politicians, industry representatives and researchers came together to discuss best practice approaches for reaching the aim of climate neutrality.
The first international conference held by Act Now! and its partner project LowTEMP in Gdynia (Poland) in October aimed at filling the “action gap” between CO2 reduction strategies and real greenhouse gas emissions. The conference explicitly wanted to contribute to the question: “How to put energy efficiency plans and concepts into action?”.

In order to tackle global warming and its negative impacts the world community needs to take actions. Transforming the building sector towards efficiency plays a key role in this context since heating, supply of warm water and cooling in private households account for approx. 80 % of the overall European energy consumption.
The Baltic Sea Conference Energy Efficient Cities, which will take place on the 17th and 18th of October in Gdynia (Poland), aims at addressing this topic with a focus on energy efficiency in municipalities.
Many citizens came to participate in the activities offered during the first “Pomeranian Energy Picnic” by Gdynia seashore. The Regional Fund for Environmental Conservation and Water Management (WFOS) in cooperation with the city of Gdynia organized this event to promote topics like renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and recycling. The focus of the fair framed by the eighth Pomeranian Energy Days was on clean air and pollution caused by burning fuels in traffic, heating and industry.
